I recently upgraded my 2007 A6 to a 2014 3.0.  I have a factory set of roof racks I used just a few time to carry my kayak.  They are like new and attach solidly to the roof using out-of-sight holes…Continue

It is always a great event and a fantastic way to kick off the Holiday Season. ROAR Before the 24 Get Together/ Luncheon

We’re planning on doing a luncheon on Saturday Jan. 6thstarting around 11:30 AM at a location to be determined. After lunch we’ll all drive over to the Daytona speedway to watch the race cars practice for the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona. Admission to the Speedway is $15 per person and includes admission to the infield viewing areas and to the garages for an up close view of the race cars, drivers and mechanics. Inside the speedway everyone is on their own to do whatever they like and stay as long as they like.
“Your Actual Results May Vary”

Well that quote from the EPA was at least proven correct especially for their highway mileage rating on Audis as members of the ACFL Audi Club of Florida demonstrated this past November 11th on the Jacksonville Shrimp Run MPG Rally. In fact the winner of this MPG rally, a ‘09 A5 stick V6 piloted by Ron Waters, was able to exceed the EPA highway mileage by 32.7%. Audis in various iterations from a 2001 S4 Avant to a 2018 A4  quattro clearly turned in some interesting figures for their drives through the few hills, many dales and a couple of small towns of north central Florida terminating at Audi Jacksonville. Drivers and groups started from numerous locations including Audi Clearwater, where a continental breakfast was served, and Audi Jacksonville, where rally participants were energized with coffee and doughnuts before heading out. All rally vehicles then met up at Audi Gainesville, home of the Florida Gators, for some delicious grilled chicken and brats served up by General Manager Tom Brinkmann, which included a special tasty side of homemade authentic German Potato Salad prepared by his wife. Those who participated at the Gainesville luncheon then gathered for a photo op with the dealership’s DKW, sporting the appropriate HD for Heidelberg plates still attached and then all were off to Audi Jacksonville for the finish of the rally.

The AAA American Automobile Association of St Petersburg provided their famous TripTik that are now very different from the old ones, which used to be monochromatic, in addition to maps and tour books of central Florida. At the awards banquet, which included additional ACFL members and Audi enthusiasts from the First Coast Region, MPG winners received e-gift certificates to the Audi Store fromKirk Preiser of AoA. Numerous other prizes were kicked in by the ACFL. The ACNA helped by providing funding for the events at the dealerships but all three dealerships refused the Club’s contributions and instead requested that their checks be written to the Ronald Mc Donald House and the Fisher House, both worthy causes.

After all the prizes were distributed for excellence in MPG, the oldest and newest Audi participating, plus the distribution of a number of matchbox RS6 Avants, R8 models, knapsacks, totes, sunglasses and other swag distributed to all attending and it being Veterans’ Day we asked that all who had served or who were presently on active duty please identify themselves. It is because of their service we were afforded the opportunity to have such a wonderful day of comradery enjoying each other’s company while driving our Audis that the Audi Club of Florida wanted to thank them and express our gratitude. Consequently each of the seven attending veterans and active service members received a small token of our appreciation from the ACFL to cover their dinner and event registration Thank you for your service.

Board News
Board of Directors Openings.
Shannon Tillman will be leaving the Board in December after many years of service. She has moved to Georgia, that will hopefully become that chapter's gain, unfortunately our loss.

The Audi Club of Florida is looking for two individuals who would be interested in serving on the board of directors. The positions require at least two years of membership in the ACNA and the willingness to become involved and run some of the following functions in the club. For one, marketing, which would include the onboard welcoming letter to new ACNA members, managing the sale of raffle tickets, and the contribution of Audi articles for the monthly newsletter. Events planning and working with the three regional leads in the actual execution of events. Whether it is getting half dozen folks together for a luncheon with a view or view an exhibit of photos of the American road at a Museum, go to the movies (we have done that in the past), take a short or long drive, attend a race or you name it. A few years back a number of us took a 5 day drive in Germany, There are many divergent things we as Audi fans have done in the past. It just takes time and the willingness of individuals to plan, organize and execute and it can be done. If you have an interest to work, let me know ( and we will go from there.
