A6/S6 Roof Racks for sale (2005-2011)

I recently upgraded my 2007 A6 to a 2014 3.0.  I have a factory set of roof racks I used just a few time to carry my kayak.  They are like new and attach solidly to the roof using out-of-sight holes…Continue

Audi Club of Florida - December Newsletter

December Newsletter

Lap number 2012 around the sun consisting of some 365 turns plus or minus a few nanoseconds has just about run its course. Along the way, there have been numerous Audi centric experiences starting off with the 24 Hours of Daytona, 12 Hours of Sebring, Dropping the Flag for Le Mans, Truth in 24 II, Audi Tech Center visit, a day or two at the track with Hooked on Driving and our “Drive into the Night of Lights”. Add to this a couple of drives and great luncheons at Buddy Freddy’s, Dunderbaks, Jolly Gator Fish Camp, Woody’s, and Hollerbach's Willow Tree, pounding down a breakfast or two at Cracker Barrel, Braman Multi Marque Meet, plus a new website; new format for the newsletter and it has been a relatively busy and successful year. Opportunities for improvement continue though and these are in the areas of membership, sale of raffle tickets in support of the ACNA and keeping present regions viable and expanding into new regions. Those who have been involved will attest to the level of commitment and actual time and hard work required to make all of this work so well.

We have two ACFL chapter events left for the year both on the same day with one in Sarasota at Suncoast Audi and the second at Tampa at Reeves Motorsport. Join us at the Cars and Coffee nearest you and do not forget to bring an unwrapped children’s Christmas gift for Toys and Tots. For those who will have not had enough coffee and freshly made beignets in Tampa, there is enough time to make the drive down to Suncoast for more Cars and Coffee, plus a “fun and spirited drive and lunch.” Details are listed below.
Finally, I recently learned that a fellow club member, who was very instrumental in helping to jump start the chapter a few years back , has decided to leave the world of the Four Rings and join a competitor. His remarkable level of support is what helped save the Audi Club of Florida. For that, we are very grateful and Ian Bolin, a heart felt thank you. On behalf of the club, we wish you the best of luck now that your next responsibilities are to help build a brand globally.

To date there has been no news regarding the Rolex 24 Hours in January and if Audi marketing will be sponsoring a motorsport experience. The same holds true for Sebring in March.

National has been tasked by AoA to develop some guidelines and materials that can be used in the roll out to the dealerships of the Kb initiative. One of the key elements of these deliverables is to demonstrate to the dealerships the value of both the ACNA and its chapters to enhance and insure a positive Audi experience. AoA is cognizant of this, feels that there needs to be added emphasis, and is including it in their Kb curriculum and training. From a chapter perspective, hopefully this will drive increased dealership participation and support for the chapters events. As most who have attended events in the past know, we have a small number of dealerships and the two Audi regional managers who are on board and realize that we can help each other. Nevertheless, there remains a need for some significant work, discussion, and follow up with some of the others. A few excellent dealership chapter events this past year were the “Dropping of the Flag” at Audi Tampa, “Truth in 24 II, Every Second Counts” a Crown Audi sponsored event and a Braman car show. Unfortunately, and in many cases, we simply have no one with consistent face time with other dealerships.

One of the benefits of recruiting new members for the ACNA is the chance to win a drivers seat in the Audi winter driving experience in Seefeld Austria. I participated in 2012 and one of our BoD members, will be participating in 2013. He will have the opportunity to refine his skills in an Audi S5 Sportback. That is right, a four door S5 with 333 horsepower and studded tires on all four corners. One is on their own getting to and from Munich and the first night in that historic city, but then the rest, if you win, is on someone else’s dime. It includes transfers, a visit to Ingolstadt, the museum and a factory tour, three nights in Seefeld, the site of a winter Olympics, two full days driving on ice like you just stole the car, night sleigh ride, some great meals and a night time ride with one of the instructors achieving speeds in excess of 50 MPH sideways doing full power drifts similar to rally drivers. Just at the end of the drive, we even became air born and that was with 4 adults in the car. All it takes is getting membership applications out there at your local Audi dealership and printing your name and ACNA number on the application in the “How did you hear about us?” section after Name:__________.

Welcome to our new ACNA members. If you have, any questions feel free to drop me a line atbob@audiclubfl.org . I also suggest that if you have not had a chance yet check out both the ACNA websitehttp://www.audiclubna.org/ , and the Audi Club of Florida website  http://www.audiclubfl.org/

There are no clunkers to dent doors and the competition is not allowed. What a great example of entrepreneurship in a somewhat less than democratic country.

It seems that most of you are holding on to your Audis, there were no new ads this month. As I am sure, our wish lists are being checked for who has been naughty or nice, below are a few additional Four Ringed items to add to that list and would be great stocking stuffers if they could only fit.

At this time of the year, it is especially important not to just think of those who are less fortunate but to actually do something constructive about it. Join us at the Toys for Tots events listed above or if not possible, at least donate to a charity of your choice.

Now for one last thought, I am sure your favorite mechanic or indie would also enjoy being remembered. They are the ones that keep your Audi firing on all cylinders.

Cheers and Safe Motoring,
