I recently upgraded my 2007 A6 to a 2014 3.0.  I have a factory set of roof racks I used just a few time to carry my kayak.  They are like new and attach solidly to the roof using out-of-sight holes…Continue

On Missing a Tradition
As you read this, unfortunately I was not able to make that special rite of spring this year. Not that anyone really cares but this particular tradition came for me at the other bookend in life and did not start until about 16 years ago. Spring break instead of beaches and while in college for me and in New England meant I went chasing snow bunnies after a fashion. Those of you who spent time on the slopes may remember the grading, beginner, intermediate and expert. I was a beginner on all accounts and each trip north consisted of loading up the skies in my Citroen ID 19 or strapping them between the right side Prince of Darkness Lucas headlight supports, fender and door to a 52 MG TD then heading north to Vermont.  At the other end of life’s journey it became the early morning occasional high speed dash in an UR S6 or S6 Avant through the patches of fog, the breaking sunrise, and the smell of orange blossoms heavy in the air. Eventually the slowly increasing traffic, the hard left turn, then all of the increasingly confusing orange cones, being stopped and asked "do you have any firearms?", ah yes, on arrival the faint smell of cooking bacon,  and that other annual rite of spring. Yes this one has a few young ladies in their two piece bathing suites like the ones on the beaches, but not that many, no beaches, no water, lots of noise, heat, sun, beer, cars, pickups, cars and of course some great racing. That annual rite of spring break started on New Years Eve 1950. Jimmy Carter first attend in the early fifties with Rosalynn and family in tow and Walter Cronkite actually raced in and it may be older as sort of an impromptu gathering event than the one on the beaches, or the slopes,  this one is Sebring.

The venue as established by Andy Sattler and his team at the AME (Audi Motorsport Experience) over the years is without equal. The food, viewing at the Turn One Club, guest speakers and general hospitality is excellent and is an exceptional value, one of many reasons it consistently sells out. One needs to be as quick as or quicker than an Audi in that first minute when sales open to score your tickets. Those who experience clutch slippage or wheel spin, and finger malfunction on the keyboard unfortunately do not make it to the finish line and complete their purchase prior to some with better launch control. Just one more aspect of what could be considered the total Audi/Sebring experience. Those who attended, I am sure you had a wonderful time; I will have especially missed your camaraderie. Those who have not gone, need to make better planning for next year; it is something one should experience at least once.

Reminder, last day for hard copy receipt of reduced rate registration on the MPG rally is March 28th, contact  bob@audiclubfl.com for details.

Audi Distribution Center Tour Jacksonville, 3:00 PM of April 15,

The date is set, as the boys from Jacksonville will be touring Audi's parts and distribution center for the south east. Generally if your Audi is in for service and the dealership has determined the needed part is not in their stock by early that afternoon, the required part will be ordered, picked, packed, shipped and delivered by noon of the following day. Considering all of the parts that are in your Audi, that is pretty amazing. Of course there are the exceptions, but the fulfillment of needed parts is facility's mission. Contact Kerry at   greenkerry@att.net, to reserve your place for this behind the scenes experience. Diner arrangements to be determined. Those who have RSVP'd with Kerry will be notified regarding exact address..
