As we come to the close of 2015 the Audi Club of Florida has successfully added a few more great events into the book. Whether it was meeting at Daytona for the Roar before the 24, pounding down some good German food in Tampa, Sarasota or Jacksonville, and a little BBQ in Tampa were a few good starters. In addition there was a drive to Yalaha, always a popular destination and our fourth annual dropping of the flag for the start of Le Mans at Reeves Motorsports.
This year two of our Board of Directors members will be stepping down. David Loppert who has been on the board for four years now has served us well with the onboarding letters, membership renewal follow up and as club’s treasurer for the last two years. Andreas Baensch who is now back in Ingolstadt has been providing guidance and leadership to the club since 2008 when we were trying to get things going again. He served on our first temporary board prior to even having any bylaws. His Audi centric point of view, planning for Sebring along with running events at the Audi Technical Center are just two of numerous activities he helped with. On behalf of the ACFL and me, both of their presence and help will be missed. It has been their can do attitude and pitching in that has insured the club's smooth operation.
Other changes going forward, Shannon Tillman, will take over the onboarding and membership renewal follow up, Frank Oliver will join me in reassuming the treasurers position and finally there will be some changes in the ACFL newsletter.
Walter Moore is stepping down from his position as compiler then sole editor of the newsletter. A position he assumed and has developed over the last 4 years. This will entail the following changes. The newsletter will go back to the format of about four years ago, basically an email. Photos, car ads, articles etc will now be found on the ACFL web site, which he will still maintain. To place car ads on the web site one will now have to be an ACNA member. The newsletter will now go out to ACNA members, approximately 400 of you and not the close to 500 additional folks on the mailing list. If you desire to continue to receive the newsletter, you will need to contact Walter in order that your name/email address can be carried forward. On behalf on the ACFL and me we also appreciate all the hard work that Walter had done with this over the years. It has certainly progressed from the old MS Word format.
Until such point that we can convince another member to be the editor of the newsletter, it’s frequency and content will be significantly diminished and restricted.
While some things are being drawn down, others including events for 2016 are rushing forward. There are a number of club events planned, January will be lunch at Red Lobster and the Roar before the 24 on the 9th at Daytona and on the 16th we will have coffee and donuts along with a tour of the newly remodeled Audi Clearwater facility. Following that we will drive to the Hofbrauhaus in downtown St Pete for lunch and a little Gemütlichkeit. February will bring a breakfast at Buddy Freddy’s half way between Orlando and Tampa with March being Sebring and the Audi Motor Experience. Early April will be a MPG rally between Clearwater/Tampa and Orlando hopefully including the ever popular Kinder Rally, more on that later and May (actually end of April) will be Quattro de Mayo with the boys from Georgia. June brings the 24 Hours of Le Mans party at Reeves. July or August, another trip to the Karl Emmer’s in Sarasota and a visit to the new Audi dealership there. September is the ACNA nationals in Georgia. October will perhaps be another German meal and an Oktoberfest Cars and Coffee at Reeves Motorsport. One can never consume sufficient schnitzel and strudel in life. November possibly a drive to Yalaha and Mt Dora and December a time for giving back, Toys for Tots at Reeves. The boys up on the first coast in Jacksonville have also planned some events and these will be listed later. We are also thinking about another tour of the Audi distribution center in Jacksonville if we have sufficient interest.
If you are interested in volunteering to help with any of the above events and we do need help especially on the drives and MPG rally please contact me at bob@audiclubfl.org
Here is wishing you all had a most enjoyable holiday season and all the best for the new year.
Cheers and Safe Motoring Bob Greving President, Audi Club of Florida

Audi has new Q5 and Q2 crossovers coming this year
"The replacement for the Q5 should be fairly straightforward, replacing a model that already exists. The current Q5 was launched in 2008 and underwent a refresh in 2012. Expect the new model to offer similar dimensions and specifications, but with improvements to help it fend off the likes of the Mercedes GLC, BMW X3, and the Porsche Macan which shares its MLB underpinnings.
"The arrival of the Q2, however, promises to take Audi's crossover range further downmarket. With the existing Q3 already taking on Mercedes GLA and BMW X1, the Q2 could go a size smaller to rival the next Mini Countryman. Whatever form it takes, we'll find out within the year, according to Audi. Beyond next year, Audi says it will build its first volume electric vehicle in 2018."

Final Words..
Welcome to our new ACNA members. Our membership numbers continue to grow; we are now well over 375 members, which mean additional critical mass in different regions of the state and hopefully more events and greater participation. If you have not had a chance yet check out both the ACNA website, and the Audi Club of Florida website. There is a great deal of good information plus some excellent photos of member’s cars.
Club Polo shirts are available through Logo Sportswear. Men and Women's styles are available. http://audiclubflorida.logosoftwear.com/
