A6/S6 Roof Racks for sale (2005-2011)

I recently upgraded my 2007 A6 to a 2014 3.0.  I have a factory set of roof racks I used just a few time to carry my kayak.  They are like new and attach solidly to the roof using out-of-sight holes…Continue

Audi Club of Florida - October/November Newsletter

On Thursday, October 12, 2012, members of ACFL attended the Braman Motor Cars Car show for South Florida car enthusiast in West Palm Beach. The well-attended event, which included Bentleys, BMWs, Minis, Porsches, and a Rolls or two also, showcased the new S6, S7, and S8. Audi enthusiasts drove their S5’s, S4’s, A6’s, TT’s, and R8’s plus an R8 GT Spyder. Along with the music, delicious food, non-alcoholic beverages and giveaways it was a great showing for the Four Ringed brand. The PBR along with David is looking forward to attending additional Braman sponsored events.

October will see us at the “Lazy Man’s Tail-Gator Party” at the historic races in Sebring on the 27th. Please make sure to RSVP to trish@audiclubfl.org. This will be the third time we have held a picnic at Sebring to coincide with historic races.

November 17 has ACFL chapter members and enthusiasts starting from multiple locations in the Sunshine State, meeting for lunch in Daytona then proceeding on to St Augustine for our “Drive into the Night of Lights” If you plan to participate, I would suggest that you make your reservations at a hotel/motel/B&B of choice for that evening. Participants will be able to pre-register for the event by sending a check made out to the Audi Club of Florida for $20 and please include a note with the number in your party attending and the year and model of your Audi.

October 26-28
Sebring Historics & ACNA Lazy Man's Tailgate (October 27)

A few years ago, a group of the faithful met at Sebring for manufacturers’ test day and Audi was there. As I recall we even had a glimpse of an A7 test mule. Nevertheless, I digress—we tailgated under a large tree just past turn 1 and fun was had by all. Therefore, we plan to meet at our tree for fun and racing at the Sebring Historics—October 26-28. In addition, there should be some R8 LeMans winners taking to the track! Kim and I plan to go Friday – Sunday, since as he says; you need to get there early before they break! This is a great time at Sebring as it is not crowded and you can get to all areas of the track for great viewing. We are staying at the Residence Inn in Sebring. Tickets are $25 for Saturday and $45 for the three days. In addition, there are track “tours” available at $30 a day or $65 all three. Our A4 Avant, the Gnädige Blau Frau had a great time touring the track and nipping at the heels of a Corvette. http://www.sebringraceway.com/hsr.lasso

Lazy Man’s Tailgate

Love to tailgate with friends but hate the pre and post event prep and clean up? Well you can have the best of both worlds with our lazy man’s tailgate solution! We will be ordering lunch around noon from the Sebring Moose Lodge, which is about a mile from the track. They will have their full menu available to choose from—and Kim and I will even pick it up for you! Just pack your drinks and chairs! The lodge has food and entertainment Friday and Saturday night if anyone would like to go. Please RSVP to Trish by October 24th so I can let the Kitchen Manager know what to expect.  trish@audiclubfl.org

November 17
Drive into the St Augustine “Night of Lights” bob@audiclubfl.org

Groups will gather at various starting locations across the state then around 12:30-1:00PM converge at the Cracker Barrel at 2325 W. International Speedway Blvd. Daytona Beach, FL 3211 for a quick lunch. After lunch, there are many options available. Some can join a group and satiate their sweet tooth as we visit a chocolate factory for a tour and samples http://www.angellandphelps.com/tour.php. Others may wish to head on up to St Augustine for a visit to the Alligator Farm http://www.alligatorfarm.com/hpd.html  or Ripley’s Believe it or Not http://www.ripleys.com/staugustine/ . All part of Old Florida’s attractions; make sure you check for discount coupons. Then some may just wish to spend an afternoon of on their own sight seeing, exploring, and early Christmas shopping. At 5:45PM we will all meet up again for supper at Barnacle Bill’s; www.barnaclebillsonline.com/  14 W. Castillo Dr. St. Augustine, FL nothing special planned except some good eats, camaraderie and of course some early Christmas gifts, courtesy of Kirk Preiser and the chapter. In addition, the restaurant provides a children’s menu. After supper, all once again will be on their own to stroll this historic city and enjoy the “Night of Lights” or head home. For those who stay the evening, perhaps on the 18th, we can add an early morning group photo in front of the historic Castillo de San Marco.

ACNA chapter leaders met in DC for our AoA sponsored Kb immersion experience and a second day geared to best practices presentations from 10 chapters. The Kb presentation was both informative and gave some real insight into AoA and AG’s determination to become the number one premium brand not just in numbers of units sold but in customer experience. The day of ACNA Best Practices was also informative as chapters reported on how they run social, track, and charity events. There will be a fourth area, which was not reported on but will include governance (Best Practices on how chapters are run)

In addition to the magazine, here is one of the more astute reasons to join the ACNA. If you are not presently a member of the ACNA or have let your membership lapse, check out the Member Benefits page on the ACNA site. One of the best is the $500 loyalty reward upon the purchase or lease of a new or certified pre-owned Audi. Check out the details.

Detroit News

This is an interesting and provocative article in the Detroit News containing comments from the President of the Volkswagen Group regarding the Audi plant to be built in Mexico and some domestic economic issues.

Audi: “S” is for sex, speed, and sales

Some errors in this CNN article but still informative.

And Now to the Numbers

Audi up 26%, BMW up 0.1% and no that was not a typo.

From time to time, interesting and rare Audis come on to the market. As a service to our ACNA members and in the hopes of keeping these significant vehicles within the circle of folks who appreciate them, they, will be listed.
