Audi Club of Florida Board of Directors 

Both Shannon Tillman and Frank Oliver have decided to remain on at their positions on the ACFL BoD. David Loppert has decided to step down after four years of service on the board, responsible for our on boarding of new members and for the last two years as Treasurer of the chapter. Andreas Baensch is back in Ingolstadt and now working for Audi AG instead of AoA and will be stepping down from his position on the board at the end of his term. Andreas’s help since the rebirth of the chapter in 2007 has been of great assistance. Many will remember his participation along with David’s at the Sebring Audi Corral, his help with the chapter’s bylaws and numerous meets at the Audi Technical Center were also of great service to the club. 
On behalf of the ACFL, I wish to express our appreciation for their efforts on behalf of the club and its members. Their input and hard work has been an important part of both the governance and growth of the organization. 

To both the two continuing and two retiring board members, thank you for your service. 

Daytona and Sebring 

Of course as a club, we have no idea of the unintended consequences of the Abgas-Affäre or possible trickledown effect on racing due to financial issues facing VW, but it is often better to plan for the best. So check the event dates, make sure that Andy at the Audi Motorsport Experience (AME) has your email address and then make your accommodation reservations. Daytona because of its location has many more rooms available, but Sebring as those who have attended in the past is another story. It is not too early to start the appropriate planning.

Yalaha Rally & Orlando Cars and Coffee, October 10 

The Audi Club was out in strength at Orlando Cars & Coffee on a warm October morning. This monthly meet fills an enormous parking lot in Celebration, Florida with hundreds of cars. After the meet, we organized our driving group and headed into the pretty country roads around Sugarloaf Mountain. 

First stop was the Green Mountain Scenic Overlook in Ferndale. Yes, there's quite the view from here towards Lake Apopka, though you'll have to excuse us flat landers for calling a 200 foot hill a mountain... then on to Yalaha Bakery, where some of the group stopped for lunch and live music while the rest went on to Mount Dora. 

Thanks again to Stewart Sensor for his work organizing this event and leading the drive.

Crown Audi Update

The ACFL will be holding a tech session and visit to their new facility as soon as all of the construction dust has settled. Additional lifts, service bays, technicians and now climate control, all to better service our Audis. 

Did you know that Crown Audi could be your source for replacement tires for you Audi? 

After checking Tire Rack, Sears and other discount purveyors and installers of tires, touch base with Mandy, one of the service writers at Crown. When one does a comparison of the total cost including shipping, mounting and balancing and an Audi four wheel alignment, you just may be surprised at the total cost. On the same set of four Continental tires for my A7, Crown matched Tire Rack on price but the total was less, no shipping and Sears, on the price of the tire, mounting and balancing. It is worth checking it out.

Final Words..

Welcome to our new ACNA members. Our membership numbers continue to grow; we are now well over 375 members, which mean additional critical mass in different regions of the state and hopefully more events and greater participation.
